The attack on the working class is coming from country club Republicans who split their time destroying unions and lobbying against the kinds of employment law reforms that woulda actually reduce the hiring of undocumented immigrants: 1) mandating eVerify nationwide, and 2) stopping their Chamber of Commerce buddies from misclassifying employees as independent contractors.

That last reform would do WAY more than a wall to reduce immigration, since these days anyone in landscaping, residential and commercial cleaning services, agriculture, trucking, etc. knows the best way to cut labor costs is to call your employees independent contractors. You don't have to take withholding, pay into unemployment insurance, and best of all, you don't have to check their immigration status.
