Regarding crime, you should know that crime has been lower these last few years than it was when Trump was in office, but also that crime has been trending downward for decades. Even the small uptick we saw a few years ago was nothing compared to what violent crime used to look like in the seventies and eighties. But conservative leaning media like Fox tell people crime is rampant and they believe it.

Regarding immigration, please check out my article “How We Know Immigration is a Dog Whistle”. All immigration, even illegal immigration, grows our economy. Immigrants take jobs that no one wants, and the only people whose wages suffer are those without a high school diploma. For everyone else, immigration is a boon.

Finally, if you think Democrats are extreme, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. I’ve been fortunate enough to live in a lot of places around the world, and I’ve studied the political systems of many other countries. By comparison with other left wing parties, the Democrats are moderate, even conservative.
