Thanks for the mention. I think you are correct that “racism and homophobia enabled Dahmer to keep killing,” but I disagree that he did so out of racist or homophobic beliefs the he himself held.

I think the men he killed were targets of opportunity. Systemic racism goes a long way to explaining why the poor neighborhood he lived in was mostly populated by minorities and immigrants, and racism and homophobia also help explain why the police or other authorities took little interest in investigating the disappearance of his victims.
