It’s not either/or. It’s both/and. Currently we’ll over sixty percent of Americans favor the following gun safety measures: universal background checks, mental health screening, requiring a permit for concealed carry, red flag laws, banning high capacity magazines, and banning assault rifles.

In fact, with the exception of the last two, the rest are supported even by sixty percent of Republicans! It’s about time we join other countries with strong gun cultures like Canada and Australia and implement policies that will allow law abiding citizens to own guns while protecting bus from the people who shouldn’t.
