Intuitions are basically a form of pattern recognition honed over years of practice.

Some of these patterns are ones that we have evolved to pick out (like reading people’s emotions, ie “theory of mind”).

Some are acquired entirely within one’s lifetime (think of lawyers spotting legal issues, doctors diagnosing a difficult case, or chess grandmasters finding a winning combination).

But basically, “intuitions” are a subset of the knowledge that, when combined with a new perception, might yield a new inference.
