I’m totally on board with this. I also think as much of the federal bureaucracy should be spread out around the states as possible, instead of having all the cabinet department’s offices in DC. Modern telecommunications make that unnecessary, and it might give people in rural states more a sense of ownership of the government if it was based in their backyard.
