If it's only one issue, save your time. I'm not a single-issue voter, and even with my mind as wide open as can be, I need to see that a candidate is superior on a range of issues to be convinced.

I actually think single-issue voters have done a lot of damage to our democracy. Maybe if we had a multi-party system with proportional representation, it would be a different story. But with FPTP single member districts, all that happens is people vote for one party because of one issue and then remain completely ignorant of so much else. It also encourages polarization because people who do pay attention to other issues want to believe that they're being consistent, so they end up warping their religion, say, in order to justify voting for people who hurt the poor or the stranger just because they're also anti-abortion.
