I wouldn’t want to live under the authority of Christian rulers. But I also wouldn’t want to be without Christian (or any other community organized around values) allies in the struggle for social justice.

Maybe the place for religion is to always be the gadfly buzzing around our leaders, never letting them forget they’re supposed to serve a higher purpose than their own ambition.
