I wouldn’t say that collectives are fictional, except in the sense that money is a fiction, or the meanings of words. All are socially constructed, all depend on inter-subjective agreement.

But you’re right that rights belong to individuals. And you’re right about a collective getting stuck. Giving rights to individuals is how we prevent collectives from getting stuck for too long.
