I think Taoism was way ahead of its time. Plato hints at it with his Ideas, and Kant as well with the Transcendental Aesthetic, but it’s not really until the twentieth century and philosophers like Wittgenstein and Kuhn where you really see the idea that all names are illusion, however practical they may be.
