I mention this briefly at the end, when I quote the Preamble. But as Abraham Lincoln once said, we all declare for liberty, but in using the same word we don’t all mean the same thing. The Preamble lays out a vision of a good society, one the framers thought the constitution would create. But different people can have different ideas of what that good society looks like, even if they all claim to agree that it would be founded on the same values, liberty, domestic tranquility, etc. etc.
