I don’t think the issue is that conservatives hate trans people. I think the issue is that conservatives don’t believe trans people actually exist. They think anyone who believes themselves to be trans is deluded.

They HATE the people who they believe are responsible for this delusion, namely a vast left-wing conspiracy of post modern neo-Marxists hell bent on tearing down social hierarchies and attacking traditional values.

They’re wrong, of course, but unfortunately the left isn’t doing a very good job of showing them why they are wrong. Maybe because proving the existence of trans people would require appealing to sexual dimorphism in male and female brain architecture and cognitive functioning, and it has become an article of faith on the left that no such sexual dimorphism exists.
