I don’t think that’s a very good example. If she HAD called it a curry, there no doubt would have been no shortage of people telling her it wasn’t authentic enough to be a curry and that she was appropriating the term for some white-washed thing that wasn’t curry.

She’s damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t. So unless there’s some cognizable harm to what someone is doing, I say just live and let live.
