I don’t think it was necessary to tell white people they’re not allowed. Just bill it as a networking event to encourage women and minorities to look at careers in hockey. Not many white people would show up anyway. My wife’s firm used to have women’s networking events and no one thought it was weird. But they also didn’t go out of their way to say “no men allowed” either.
