I don’t see the difference between Zelenskyy’s proposed peace plan and total victory for Ukraine. Of course Russia rejected it. Russia wants 1) territorial concessions including Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, and Crimea, 2) a guarantee that Ukraine won’t join either NATO or the EU, and 3) immunity from any kind of accountability for war crimes or reparations.

That’s never going to happen. Ukraine definitely shouldn’t let up now. Russia is fielding green recruits armed with Iranian munitions against battle-hardened, Western-armed Ukrainian defense forces, who are fighting on familiar ground. Why cede the advantage?
