I disagree about existence of universal values. There’s amply evidence not only for the existence of basic psychological biases or preferences that could go by the name of “fairness,” “empathy,” “loyalty,” “purity,” etc., but there’s also evidence that homologous moral instincts can be found in many species of social mammal, especially primates.
