Democrats’ policy preferences on guns are in line with very large majorities of the voting public and, in enacted, would not infringe on the right of law abiding Americans to own most kinds of firearms. So I regard that example as a red herring.

The trans issue is an even bigger red herring because we’re talking about a very tiny percentage of the population that’s actually affected.
