Democrats don’t support the nationalization of any corporate sector so far as I know. Nor can I score the censorship one for them given the GOP’s war on school libraries and laws like Don’t Say Gay.

But more to the point, obviously neither side is going to own up to sympathizing with nazism. The question isn’t who would National Socialism appeal more to today, but rather, if you transported some random American voters to 1930s Germany, who would find a home in the Nazi Party.

I think it’s pretty clear that most of today’s Democrats would be either Social Democrats or Socialists in 1932 Germany. Most of today’s GOP would gravitate to the Nazi party.

Nationalism, populism, emphasis on traditional gender roles, xenophobia, homophobia, censorship of modern literature and ideas, etc. it’s not even close.
