Common sense is recognizing that mental illness, unemployment, poverty, broken homes, and all other vectors of violence (real or imagined) exist in every country, but easy access to guns does not. That's what makes us different. That's why gun violence in America dwarfs that of any other nation. Until the gun rights crowd acknowledges this basic fact, they're essentially asking to be ignored in any serious conversations.
