There are a lot of atheists and ex-religious people trying to create community, but most people don't know we exist.
Part of that has to do with the fact that "atheist" is confounded in most peoples' minds with "anti-theist," and part of that has to do with the fact that atheists are a very diverse group.
I'd be happy if a lot more people identified as humanist, since I see some atheists drifting toward the alt-right, nationalism, and similar ideologies.
